    outstanding restaurant
    charming hotel
    expensive breakfast

Chateau Hotel Edward 1Er is an absolute gem! The food at the restaurant blew us away, way better than any local spot. The atmosphere felt cozy and welcoming. Just a heads up, the breakfast prices were a bit steep, but the quality made it worth it.

    beautiful aesthetics
    gorgeous pool
    welcoming atmosphere
    limited variety

Chateau Hotel Edward 1Er really impressed me with its beautiful aesthetics and welcoming atmosphere. The location, a short walk from the medieval village center, was a highlight. I loved lounging by the gorgeous pool area, surrounded by well-kept gardens. My room, the King Room, offered spacious comfort with a lovely view. Breakfast options were delightful, especially the scrambled eggs. I wished for a bit more variety, though, as choices felt limited. One downside involved climbing up to my room with no lift available. it made managing luggage a bit tricky. Overall, I found most of the staff charming and attentive, providing great service throughout my stay. It truly felt like a charming retreat with peaceful surroundings, perfect for exploring the area, yet I wouldn't mind some enhanced soundproofing between rooms for added privacy.

The hotel was an excellent spot for my family and me, including my granddaughter. The charming setting and spacious room exceeded our expectations, giving us a cozy home base while we explored Monpazier. The nearby town center and delightful breakfast made mornings extra special.

My kids wished there were more kid-friendly menu options.

    Couples will love it here

The warm welcome we received was truly something special! The hosts were not just friendly, but genuinely interested in making our stay the best it could be, even sharing stories about the history of the place.

It wasn't exactly a bargain, but honestly, worth every penny.

    beautifully maintained pool area
    room quality variability

The hotel’s location is fantastic, nestled in one of France's most beautiful villages, offering easy access to charming local markets and stunning medieval architecture. The restaurant provides a delightful culinary experience with the attention to high standards in every meal, and the pool area is beautifully maintained, making it an ideal spot for relaxation.

Some areas of the hotel showed variability in room quality, which could be improved.

    attentive staff
    great food
    soundproofing issue
    service delays
    neighbor noise

Charming stay with excellent staff who were consistently attentive and made dining a pleasure, especially with the great restaurant menu featuring local organic products. The pool area offered a relaxing escape, and little touches like drink service by the pool added to the experience. However, the room could use some soundproofing to minimize noise from neighboring rooms, and occasional service delays during busy hours were noticeable.
